IEC 61850 Pilot Substation with IEC 60870–5‑104Italy
The end customer (an Italian distribution utility) is developed its first IEC 61850 substation, for which it acquired the iRTU-B0C1 and iControl Substation Edition as central elements of their test plant.
iControl SCADA communicates directly with all IEDs via IEC 61850 in order to locally display the state of the substation. The iRTU-B0C1 acts as a substation gateway, acquiring data from the substation via IEC61850, mapping it to IEC60870‑5–104, and sending it to the main control center.
